Terms of Service
These are the terms we work under. They are written to be read rather than survived, and a signed project agreement always takes precedence over anything on this page.

Who you are contracting with
Services are provided by Cyphertech LLC, a Virginia limited liability company doing business as Cyphtech. Where this page says “we” or “us”, it means Cyphertech LLC.
Scope and pricing
Every project starts with a written scope stating what we are building, what it costs, and what is not included. Pricing is fixed at that point. We do not bill hourly.
Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately and only starts once you approve it in writing. We will not do out-of-scope work and invoice you for it afterwards.
Payment
Projects run on a deposit followed by one or more milestone payments, set out in the project agreement. Work begins once the deposit clears.
Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice. If an invoice is significantly overdue we may pause work, and we will tell you before we do.
Ownership
On final payment, ownership of the deliverables transfers to you: the design files, the site or application we built, and any accounts we set up on your behalf.
We keep ownership of our own pre-existing tools, internal libraries and general know-how. Nothing in a project stops us from applying the same skills elsewhere.
Unless you ask us not to, we may show the work publicly: in our portfolio, in a case study, or when pitching. Tell us if a project is confidential and we will keep it off the site.
Your responsibilities
You provide content, brand assets, access and feedback within the timeframes in the project schedule. Projects usually slip because material arrives late, not because design takes longer than planned.
You confirm you hold the rights to anything you give us to publish: copy, images, logos, fonts.
Revisions
Each stage includes a defined number of revision rounds, stated in the scope. Revisions mean refining the agreed direction. Changing direction after approval is new work, and we will quote it.
Timelines
Dates in the project agreement are commitments we take seriously, and they assume the material and approvals we asked for arrive when scheduled. If something slips on either side, we tell you early rather than at the deadline.
Cancellation
Either side can end a project in writing. You pay for work completed up to that point; anything already delivered and paid for is yours. Deposits cover work already scheduled and reserved and are non-refundable once a project has started.
Third-party services
Projects usually run on services we do not control: hosting, CMS platforms, analytics, ad platforms. Their fees, uptime and terms are between you and them. We will tell you what a project depends on before it starts.
Warranty and liability
We fix defects in our own work, free, for thirty days after launch. That covers things that do not work as specified, not new features, and not breakage caused by changes made by others after handover.
We do not guarantee business outcomes such as rankings, traffic or revenue. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you have paid us for the project the claim relates to.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. Changes apply to new projects; a project already underway keeps the terms in force when it was agreed.
